Dynamic Education Studio Contract for Private Music Lessons

Private Music Lesson Agreement

The service agreement (the “Agreement”) is made by and between Parent/Guardian and Dynamic Education for the purpose of providing lessons to student as contained herein. Please review this agreement carefully as it contains important information relating to lessons. This agreement shall be effective the date this form is completed.

LOCATION

All lessons and classes will be held at Dynamic Education in Cape Coral (4409 SE 16th Place, Cape Coral, FL 33904 #10B).

PRIVATE LESSONS FEE AND PAYMENT

Lessons are billed by a monthly membership, based on a yearly schedule. The studio is open 47/52 weeks a year and each monthly payment reflects that. Monthly payments are due on the 1st of the month. We accept debit or credit cards per the online subscription option through the website (Dynamiceducationstudio.com) or cash and checks made out to Dynamic Education in person. Lesson monthly memberships are as follows:

1. Monthly Membership Rates:

  • 30 minute private lessons: $157 a month

  • 60 minute private lessons: $274 a month

2. We accept the Step up for Student Scholarships for all Private lessons. You can pay directly through the Marketplace online.

ATTENDANCE/MISSED LESSONS

Any lesson a student cannot attend requires 24 hours' notice to Dynamic Education. If a student fails to attend a scheduled lesson without giving 24 hours' notice, the lesson will not be rescheduled, and the full fee will be charged. If a student is ill and cannot attend, please notify us by 9:00 AM the day of the lesson. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit of that week's lesson. Lessons missed with proper notice will be made up with one of the make-up lesson policies. Other emergencies and family matters will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

MAKE-UP LESSONS

Make-up lessons may be scheduled for an absence in which Dynamic Education was properly notified of. If a make-up lesson is scheduled, the rescheduled lesson will count as one of the 47 weeks in the membership. If a make-up lesson cannot be rescheduled due to conflicts with either party, the lesson will be forfeited. A make up lesson can be in person, virtual live video, or video submission. There will be no refunds or credits towards the next month.

VIRTUAL MAKE UP LESSONS

We offer the opportunity to make up lessons virtually if an in-person lesson does not work with the teacher or parents' schedule. There are limited days and times available at the studio, so a virtual lesson gives more flexibility. This lesson can be a live video lesson, or a recorded lesson the teacher sends. This make-up option counts as the weekly lesson. There will be no refunds or credits towards the next month.

VACATIONS

We understand that families have planned vacations throughout the year. Please let us know of any planned vacation dates as soon as possible. Vacation dates are considered missed lessons. There are two options for missed lessons due to vacation:

  1. Pay the monthly membership amount and understand that you are paying to reserve your spot in the studio (day and time) even while away.

  2. Skip the month and do not pay the monthly payment. If you choose to skip the month and not make the monthly payment, your lesson time will be forfeited and may not be available when you return.

Please understand that with over 90 lessons in the studio weekly, that we do not have the means to accommodate make up lessons for everyone's vacation time. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

TEACHER MISSED LESSONS

If the instructor needs to miss a lesson due to a performance or self/family illness, Dynamic Education will reschedule it at the student’s convenience. Lessons can be made up at any time in order to receive your 47/52 weeks per our annual billing cycle. There will be no refunds or credits towards the next month.

WAITLIST

When there is an overload (too many students and not enough open spots), we will have students on a waitlist. These students will be emailed about any openings as soon as possible. Be sure to check your email often as these are first come first served.

INSTRUMENTAL LESSONS

Students are required to provide their own instruments. Piano students are encouraged to have a piano or keyboard at home to practice on in order to see adequate progress. All lesson students are provided with a notebook by Dynamic Education but should also have pencil, method book recommended by the teacher.

SHEET MUSIC

Dynamic Education is able to provide some copies of music for lessons; however, any method books/original copies of music must be purchased by the student/parent prior to an audition or performance.

PRACTICING

Students are expected to practice daily what they learn in lessons. We recommend for younger students 10 minutes a day, up to 30-60 minutes a day for older, more advanced students. Practicing is KEY to seeing improvement and retaining the material being taught. By signing this contract, the parent/guardian agrees to encouraging their student to practice and make sure they are communicating with their teacher if they have any questions or concerns.

MULTI-SIBLING DISCOUNT (self-pay only)

If you are interested in enrolling more than one child, we gladly provide a multi sibling discount. Siblings will receive $10 off of the individual lesson cost. The monthly membership payment will be as follows for each additional sibling:

  • 30 minute private lessons: $117.50 a month

  • 60 minute private lessons: $235 a month

MUSICALS, ATHLETICS, AND SCHOOL RELATED EVENTS

It is your responsibility to inform us of any school and performance related events that will conflict with your regularly scheduled lesson. Lessons missed during “tech week” rehearsals for school performances are considered forfeited lessons. Dynamic Education should be notified of these prior to making your monthly payment. I encourage and support our students in their participation in the various musical and athletics programs. However, there are times when these events can become problematic with lessons due to the demanding rehearsal schedule and practices. If a student chooses to participate in these after school and community events and it becomes necessary to miss lessons, Dynamic Education suggests the following options:

● Make arrangements with the teacher, director, or coach to miss the rehearsal/practice for your lesson time each week. Let them know you must pay for missed lessons.

● Continue to pay monthly as stated above in the missed lesson policy and forfeit your lessons that are missed for other rehearsals or obligations.

VISITORS AT LESSONS

We ask that parents sit in the lobby during their child’s lesson or they may leave and run errands for the 1/2 hour or hour. Having the parent sit in lessons can be distracting to the student and teacher, we want to provide the best instruction we can to the student in the amount of time we have.

DISCONTINUATION

If the student and parent/guardian desire to discontinue private lessons, the student will receive lessons through the end of the paid month. At the end of the month, lessons will discontinue, and the student will forfeit their lesson time. No refund will be given for lessons which were already paid for. We reserve the right to discontinue lessons, at any point, due to inappropriate or disrespectful behavior from the student or parent/parental guardian.
