Service Description

In this hands-on clay class, students explore the art of working with clay through both hand-building techniques and the pottery wheel. Designed for creativity and skill-building, the class introduces students to a variety of methods for shaping and transforming clay into unique functional and decorative pieces. Students will learn foundational hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab construction to create items like bowls, sculptures, and small vessels. They will also have the opportunity to experience the pottery wheel, where they’ll practice centering clay and forming simple wheel-thrown pieces. Throughout the class, students develop patience, focus, and artistic confidence while learning about texture, form, and surface design. Projects may include painting and decorating finished pieces, allowing each student to create personalized works of art. Anyone paying using the Step-Up for Students Scholarship, please use the code "stepup" in the coupon code section.

Classes are back to back with 15 minutesfor transitions. If you are running late to the scheduled class, an email or text message needs to be sent to the teacher.
